Safety at okdate

You meet people in real life, so trust is part of the product. This is how it works.

Identity verification

  1. Take a photo of your ID.
  2. Record a short selfie that confirms it's you.
  3. A few minutes later a badge appears on your profile.

An external provider runs the verification. We keep only the result and the check reference, never a scan of your document.

Before the meetup

  • The “verified only” filter works both ways.
  • A private-venue occasion from an unverified person carries a clear label and a warning.
  • Only the person you lock in a meetup with sees the exact address.
  • Send your plan to someone you trust with one link: the time, the area and a photo of the person you're meeting.
  • For a first 1 on 1 meetup we recommend a public place.

During and after the meetup

  • Three hours before, you both confirm.
  • After the meetup we ask whether it happened and how it went. Ratings are blind and negatives never appear on a profile. No-shows lower reliability, and repeated signals from different people lower someone's position or restrict the account.
  • Report and block work from every card, profile and chat.
  • A safety report after a meetup suspends the reported account straight away until a moderator decides.

Meetup record

We record every locked-in meetup: who, with whom, when and where. We share the record only with the police or prosecutors on a formal request, and every access is logged. Neither users nor moderators browse it.

Rules

  • okdate is for adults only (18+).
  • Sexual content and paid companionship offers are banned.
  • We don't rate looks.
